Nigeria
The RANA project, a collaboration between UNICEF and FHI360, funded by the UK’s FCDO, is enhancing literacy and numeracy in primary education across Katsina and Zamfara States in Nigeria, targeting both public schools and IQS. CTC was engaged by UNICEF to evaluate the program’s implementation in these states.
Nigeria
Norwegian Refugee Council, in collaboration with UNICEF and Save the Children, is dedicated to enhancing education access for children and adolescents. Their joint project aimed to impact 470,000 children through learning opportunities and vocational training, while also training 7,000 teachers and constructing 200 classrooms. CTC conducted a baseline study, assessing the learning levels of both in and out-of-school children and their WASH practices.

CTC, engaged by WHO, addresses Pakistan’s COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy by assessing and enhancing electronic and print media capabilities. With a focus on reliable reporting and combating misinformation, CTC established a sustainable system to counter social media-driven rumors and ensure evidence-based communication.

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) sanctioned a USD $50.6 million grant to Punjab’s Government for the Transformation in Access, Learning, Equity and Education Management (TALEEM) under the Education Sector Programme Implementation Grant (ESPIG) in August 2021. Running from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2026, the five-year initiative includes CTC’s role in assessing SEAH risks and providing recommendations for preventive measures and robust reporting systems.

The European Union Delegation collaborated with CONSEIL SANTE as Lead and CHIP Training and Consulting as subcontractors to enhance the health department’s capacity in formulating a Nutrition Policy, strategy, and implementation framework for Sindh Province, Pakistan.

GIZ enlisted CTC to evaluate women’s preferences for sanitary pads, focusing on biodegradable options. CTC conducted a comprehensive study exploring demand, supply, socio-cultural, environmental, and economic aspects.
Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, South Sudan
UNF granted $100,000 each to Village Reach in the DRC and CCRDA in Ethiopia for advancing polio integration. Coaching and capacity building were provided to increase CSO knowledge, with three additional CSOs – VNDC, IHO, and CSO Coalition for Universal Health Coverage – joining in Phase 2. CTC was engaged to create an advocacy toolkit on polio transition and integration and compile CSOs’ contributions.

CTC was engaged by IC-NET Limited to gather essential maternal and child health data from health departments, Lady Health Workers Programme, and Expanded Programme on Immunization in low-performing districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This data collection initiative aimed to aid IC-NET’s bid preparation process for enhancing healthcare in the region.

Floods intensified the nutrition emergencies, prompting a collaborative effort by the World Health Organization’s Nutrition program, the Ministry of National Health Services, and other stakeholders. CTC’s role involved aiding WHO in staffing Nutrition Stabilization Centers for critically malnourished children in flood-affected districts.

This study investigated COVID-19 information access, testing, treatment, and vaccination barriers for Afghan refugees and host communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It also assessed government response inclusiveness, Afghan refugees’ knowledge, pandemic’s impact on health-seeking behavior, health provider engagement, and policy frameworks for treatment and vaccination.

In a phased approach, Pakistan conducted a nationwide Typhoid Conjugate Vaccination (TCV) campaign, supported by the World Health Organization for planning, training, monitoring, and evaluation. CTC was engaged to hire District Campaign Monitors for comprehensive oversight of pre-campaign, intra-campaign, and post-campaign tasks at the district level.

Nutrition International supported Pakistan’s Oil Fortification initiative in collaboration with key stakeholders, including ministries, quality control authorities, and edible oil industries. CTC provided financial and administrative support for this FCDO-funded program, aiming to enable fortification, enhance quality control, and provide training across provinces for sustainable impact.

Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, and Gaza
CTC was engaged by DKH to create a contextualized handbook for livelihood programs, integrating technical guidelines and tools aligned with DKH’s regional partnership model. The toolkit encompasses project cycle tools, market assessments, tailored indicators, MEAL framework, and CTC’s research in Iraq, Syria, Gaza, and Pakistan on women’s roles in formal and informal economies.

Specifically, CTC’s role was to foster women’s participation in STEM fields within the energy sector through capacity building and an enabling environment.
